The braking resistor banks BTR-1400PUHL2 and BTR-1750PUHL2 are designed to dissipate electrical energy generated by traction motors operating in generator mode during electric braking of diesel locomotives.
They can also be used as a load for diesel generators during commissioning and testing without the use of a water rheostat.
Structurally, the units are designed as metal enclosures housing ribbon-type braking resistors. The design allows replacement of individual resistor elements during operation and maintenance.
They are used in TEP70BS series diesel locomotives.
Climatic design: UHL2 in accordance with GOST 15150-69.
